Trying adopt a more positive approach to life and fitness, etc LOL !!
Anyway - I am walking outdoors more - and trying to learn some of the birdcalls of the more conspicuous?? local songbirds. Is anyone else interested in these types of activities??? Just thought I’d ask.
Excellent..smile well I walk 2 energetic dogs and thoroughally enjoy it especially in this weather, hmm walking in the wilds of Scotland is wonderful.Sometimes there is complete silence, then you hear the piercing call of an buzzard, or maybe an eagle.
I like birds. Listening and recording to them. In Cyprus i know the most of the birds of my area but in the UK there are more birds and they sound more simmilar. I can rekognise the most common once such us the blackbird, robin, ren, wood pigeon etc.
Spring is my favorite season because i can hear loads of birds.
1 because it's nesting period so males sing to attrackt the females and also migrading birds return from Africa and other countries. I think it's the most beutiful season especialy just before sunset when there is the dawn chorus where the birds sing all together creating a wonderful sound.
Nikos
If I do sports I always integrate it into my every-day-life. LIke walking to school instead of going by bus. And ireally mean fast walking, not like oyu have all time in the world.
heh heh heh - I'm definitely one of the you-have-all-the-time-in-the-world sort of walkers...
I prefer walking when possible, like to the store, to church, across campus, etc. I also like taking the stairs when I can, instead of ramps or elivators. As for bird calls, I think I can recognize some, but I haven't studied them or anything to b,good at it.
Yeah, same here, Tinkerbell.
Well was out today and managed to ID 2 birds - there were sooo many... *sigh* LOL
Have you thought of recording the calls and listening to them later on. And I like a good saunter every so often.
Well at least if I recorded them - I could listen to them in doors where it is warm!!
Thats the stuff you would not want to be here right now, its freezing, with sharp hail showers.
damm... don't think this kitty is up for chasing tweety birds. It's not natural LOL !!
on the subject of getting fit. if you can't get to a gym, or your gym isn't accessible to you for some reason, try getting a cross trainer. They are a bit expencive for the really good ones, but it's worth buying a high end one for the quality of the workout. I have a horizon andies 150 and it's really done me good. I work out on it almost every day, with a break for one day out of seven. I'm currently working for ten minutes a day on level five, which is doing me well. Once I get to fifteen minutes a day on level five, and taht becomes easy, I'll go to level six and so on. a very good bit of equipment the cross trainer, better than a treadmill, as it gives you the full body workout without impact injory.
it's entirely natural go on chase em you know you want to..smile!
noooo... want someone to do all the hard work for me - purr, purr, purr... LOL
Hmm be careful or people will start calling you Garfield ..smile.
Shucks you worked it out - I'm his long lost sister !! LOL
well there will be a heck of a cat fight for the last sardine...lol.
